Outdaughtered find that last October Grandmother Michelle “Mimi’ Theriot was arrested for DUI. This week she found out her fate.
According to police reports, one late night in Mid-October, Mimi’s black Ford SUV caught cops’ attention as it swerved over the road, straddling the solid white shoulder line. Adam Busby and Danielle Busby find that unbearable.
It became clear that the driver did not want to pull over, but eventually did. That driver was grandmother to the 6 Busby girls, Mimi.
As police approached Mimi’s vehicle, they recall being hit with a very strong perfume odor, a telltale sign that Mimi knew she was over the limit and was trying to cover the smell of alcohol. Of course it didn’t work- these aren’t the quints she was trying to fool.

The report went on to describe the driver’s state- lethargic , bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Mimi was soon arrested for driving under the influence.
Now, 6-months after the fact, Mimi’s sentence has been handed down, and the Outdaughtered star was relieved to have narrowly avoided jail time.
However, she did not get off with just a slap to the wrist. Mimi has entered what is called a diversion program. This is a 1-year program available to for first-time offenders, with some strict parameters.
Firstly Mimi must stay clear of bars or consuming any alcohol or controlled substances for the length of her probation. She has also been ordered to complete 24 hours of community service and a driving while impared education program.
But wait, there’s more! Mimi must also submit to random drug testing and keep her nose very clean. If she is to break any laws, all of this goes away and jail time will be issued.
If Mimi can get through the year of these strict guidelines, her case will be dismissed.
Though the DUI happened last year, nothing has been mentioned yet on TLC’s Outdaughtered. It will be interesting to see if they do address Mimi’s arrest throughout this current season, airing Tuesdays at 8pm on TLC.
