Tom Brady has revealed that his wife Gisele Bündchen hinted that he should retire in the aftermath of his Super Bowl win in 2021.

In an interview with James Corden on The Late Late Show, Tom revealed that his wife wanted him to hang up his boots. He said: “All of a sudden, I saw my wife and I gave her a big hug. And just as I did it, she said, ‘What more do you have to prove? I just gave her a big hug. I was trying to figure out a way to change the subject really quick.”
So is Tom ready to walk away? Well, he remained as coy as ever and decided to keep his cards close to his chest. After all, why would he walk away now? He had just won the biggest prize in the sport and has an illustrious career spanning 20 years. Prior to the Super Bowl, he told his fans whether he was ready to walk away from the game.
He said: “I think I’ll know when it’s time. I can never go into this game half-ass. It’s a physical sport, and the perspective I have on that is — you never know. It’s been a huge part of my life for a long time, and I love thinking about it. I think football, to me, is much more than just a sport because there’s the physical element, there’s a mental approach, you know, how you’re going to get the job done, and there’s the emotional part.
“As a quarterback, it’s never about what I do, it’s really about what we do.” It is understandable as not many would walk away knowing that they still have plenty to give. Although Gisele would want Tom to call it a day, it does not mean that she has given up on supporting Tom. Far from it, as sources revealed: “[She is] over the moon proud of Tom and his accomplishments thus far.”
It will be interesting to see what decision Tom will take, but fans will not begrudge him should he decide to walk away. He has given enough to the game, and it may be time to pass on the torch.
