Priyanka Chopra has revealed how she was told to undergo plastic surgery by a director after she had won Miss World in 2000.

In her autobiography, she said: “After a few minutes of small talk, the director/producer told me to stand up and twirl for him. I did. He stared at me long and hard, assessing me, and then suggested that I get a boob job, fix my jaw, and add a little more cushioning to my butt.”
She then told the Metro how that experience made her feel: “It’s so normalised that it doesn’t come up in conversation. I talked about a movie that I walked out of because of how I was spoken to by the director. It was early in my career, but I never told him why I walked out. I never had the courage to stand up for myself, and actually admit it. Because I heard so often, Don’t be a nuisance, you’re new in the industry.
“I fell for it too, even though I consider myself a forward-thinking, smart girl. I learned from that over time, but at that time, I was terrified. If I wanted to be an actress, he said, I’d need to have my proportions “fixed”, and he knew a great doctor in LA he could send me to. My then-manager voiced his agreement with the assessment.”
Nevertheless, she has put it all behind her as she has found someone who appreciates her on merit: Nick Jonas. The two got married after only two years of dating, and, by all accounts, things are going great. She told Elle UK: “I didn’t expect the proposal at that point… It was two months! I thought it would happen, but it was still a complete shock.
“[But] I relinquished control, and I just went with it. We were just sporadically meeting for about two years. We were texting and stuff, and there may have been a part of me that wanted something serious.But I was taking a hiatus from guys at that point. I didn’t want anyone romantically. But there’s always been something about Nick, which is why we always ended up staying in touch, no matter where we were.
