“After changing his diaper, I felt a sharp cramp. I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right,” she wrote. “I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second.”
Meghan went on to say that hours later she found herself in the hospital, where she kissed Prince Harry’s knuckles, which were “wet from both of our tears.” The Duchess of Sussex says that she is sharing her story to help break the silence and taboo from what she says is an all-too-common tragedy.
While the Duchess of Sussex is sharing her heartbreaking news with the world, Buckingham Palace is refusing to comment on the matter, along with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Harry’s father Prince Charles has declined to comment, while a Buckingham Palace has concurred, saying only that it was a deeply person matter for the family.
It’s been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have had very little contact with Harry and Meghan ever since the Sussexes pulled the plug on their working relationship with the royal family and packed their bags and left London for a new life for themselves in Los Angeles.
