’90 Day Fiancé’ spoilers tells that when Jihoon’s Mom tried to hang out with Deavan, I got a little bit of judgement from her because, well, let’s face it, when Deavan first came to Korea she was a little bit clueless and din’t know one thing about how to prepare a Korean meal, nor did she really know anything about the culture.
Jihoon’s parents were accepting enough, but his Mom seemed to be the type to make snide remarks behind her back because her daughter-in-law was just not well-verse in, well, anything.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: But then the miscarriage happened.
Jihoon’s Mom really reached out to Deavan and it seemed that she really tried to make her feel like she was part of the family after the miscarriage happened. She took her to the Korean Museum of Modern History where they seemed to have a blast.
It was funny watching his Mom play with the musuem displays, and show off the old style Korean home, especially the Asian toilet! Although, the toilet paper was a little bit questionable there, there didn’t seem to be much of it, at all.
Finally, using that confounded translator app Deavan and Jihoon’s Mom sat down and had a halfway decent conversation. Jihoon’s Mom said some really nice things about Deavan, that she thought she had courage and that things would get better for her in Korea if she just gave them time.
I honestly don’t think that Jihoon’s Mom is a bad person, I think that her sense of humor may be misinterpreted a lot of times because it doesn’t translate well at first glance in English, but I do think she means well.
The sad thing is, we know how this story ends and that no matter what Jihoon’s Mom did or didn’t do, it ultimately didn’t end up working out for Deavan and Jihoon, however, watching this story play out is interesting.
Deavan previously accused Jihoon’s Mom of being abusive toward Drasilla but when seeing these clips, I just wonder how true a claim that one is. Jihoon is different, but his Mom doesn’t seem like the type of person to be abusive… then again, we haven’t seen her and little Drasilla interact that much so maybe there was something there that the cameras missed. Still, it was nice to see Deavan have a fun and relaxing day with her former Mother-in-Law. Stay tuned!!!
