King Charles slimmed down the monarchy, which could use a boost from the younger generation of royals. The King and Kate are both sick, and the Firm needs help.
King Charles and Princess Kate Are Taking Time Off As Working Royals
King Charles has postponed his public duties due to his cancer diagnosis, and Princess Catherine is receiving treatment for her cancer.
Prince William is caring for his wife and children, Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte. He will return to public duties soon.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been living in California since January 2020. The Duchess is preparing to unveil her American Riviera Orchard brand—anything to help make her relevant again.
Prince Andrew is disgraced and has been ever since his association with known sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was uncovered. He has been exiled from the royal fold.
Camilla, Prince William, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and his wife, Sophie, cannot do all the work to keep the monarchy from total collapse.
There was a time when the royal family had more than double the number of working royals that exist now.
Most working royals are in their 70s and 80s. Fresh young blood would inject the energy required to maintain the Firm.
The monarchy needs to rethink its slimmed-down strategy. Younger royals who could participate would be seen as more relevant, which could only strengthen the institution.
The monarchy is in a vulnerable condition. Royal biographer Phil Dampier explains that
“the monarchy could, with the wrong unforeseen circumstances, collapse quite quickly if something were to happen to both the King and William. It could lose a lot of power and ability to operate if, god forbid, some other disaster happened.”
Younger Royals Could Become Prevalent Members Of The Firm
A few different royals could participate in and become part of the Firm. Sooner or later, the royal family may need these members to thrive.
Arthur Chatto is Princess Margaret’s grandson and the son of Margaret’s daughter, Lady Sarah Chatto. He was the first royal family member to join the Royal Marines. The late Queen Elizabeth was very proud of her great-nephew.
He has been involved in several worthy causes, raising funds for Just One Ocean and the British Red Cross.
Another of Princess Margaret’s grandsons, Samuel Chatto, is another son of Lady and Sarah Chatto. He is highly creative and has his own ceramics studio.
Lady Amelia Windsor is Prince Edward’s granddaughter. Although she may be a model, she is not just a pretty face. Lady Amelia cares significantly about environmental issues and advocates for sustainable fashion. She is also passionate about animals.
Lady Margarita Armstrong Jones is Princess Margaret’s granddaughter. She is a novice in photography, art history, and jewelry design.
Cassius Taylor is the grandson of Prince Edward and Queen Elizabeth’s first cousin. He is a noteworthy figure in the London art scene, as he is a talented painter with his art exhibition.
These are just a few examples of the royals and up-and-comers who could very well step in one day. The royal family is stretching itself way too thin.
King Charles may want to consider adding a few extra working royals to the list with the monarchy in a problematic, uncertain condition.
