‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that some people need to look in the mirror. Life in Genoa City, Wisconsin, does not revolve around one person, even if two people believe it does.

It would be too easy to believe the above paragraph can only be about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). It’s not. Instead, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell) are in the spotlight.

Devon’s resistance to Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) business ideas instantly evoked comparisons to past interplay with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Meanwhile, Christine has not learned how to maintain control when Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is around.

‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Kudos To Bryton James At Twenty Years

James is working through a long period in his character’s arc. Devon remains unsettled, primarily because of family betrayals. That has him constantly on edge and suspicious of almost anyone except his son and Abby Newman Abbott (Melissa Ordway).

As of this one, the actor who has embodied Devon for twenty calendar years has come into his own. Watching James mature from his late teens through his early middle-aged years has been satisfying for the audience.

The textured performances James has offered with scene partners Mishael Morgan (as Hilary Hamilton and Amanda Sinclair), Brytni Sarpy (Elena Dawson), and Ordway are exceptionally terrific. Also, Devon’s pained exchanges with his biological father, Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), can be measured in outstanding degrees.

‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Lauralee Bell Delivers As Always

Bell became one of this iconic soap’s breakout stars decades ago. Those who chide children who benefit from the doors their parents or family members open often intentionally overlook the work that follows.

This actor benefited from access like her brother, Bradley Bell (executive producer and head writer on sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful). Jealously is a timeless concept among some. But they made the most of their opportunities, with long-term career success being reasonably undeniable.

Christine’s memorable relationship with Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) is part of Y&R’s classic fabric. So, too, is the devastating triangle Phyllis created through her deceptive tactics. Lauralee Bell has picked up where Cricket and Stafford’s character left off years ago without missing a beat. Her revival performance has been excellent.

‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Focus On Positives Instead Of Petty Distractions

Billy chose to leave the paternal family business, Jabot, and help his mother. Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) will respond differently if Devon clashes with her son than when he does so with Nate.

Devon can not allow the stress Tucker continues to stir to affect his demeanor at Chancellor-Winters. If he does, Billy is unlikely to be the one tagged as the problem.

Christine has Danny’s love. Yet, she is allowing Phyllis to push her buttons. That implies Christine feels insecure, which her long-time rival senses on Y&R.
