With this season of 90 Day Fiancé winding down, it seems very surprising that a new couple is getting introduced this week. Sam and Citra are the latest couple to be introduced onto the show. Sam is from Missouri and Citra is from Indonesia. They met on a dating app and from the looks of it, they are very different.
In the clip for the new episode, Sam opened up a lot about his past. He struggled with drug abuse and he has relapsed a few times. Sam is ready to meet Citra after dating online for over two years and he hopes that he can maintain his sobriety and that she will continue to support him. Let’s find out more about Sam and Citra.
90 Day Fiancé Spoilers: Addiction and Long-Distance Dating
Sam told the 90 Day Fiancé cameras, “It’s more important than ever that I stay clean because my fiancé is coming soon. Back when I was 15, I got addicted to pain medicine, and I stayed addicted to it for quite a few years. Being addicted to opiates- it makes you like a really cold, numb person. So I never had a real relationship that lasted, and it made life really hard. Jobs, if you’re sick every other day, it’s hard to commit to anything. And trying to get drugs, like buy drugs on the street, getting burned, it’s just a dirty, ugly world.”
Sam admitted that he has been sober for almost ten years, but he has relapsed a few times. He is doing his best to stay sober for Citra so that they can start their lives together. The first time that he went to visit her, he proposed. He is madly in love with her and he is hoping that her father will give them his blessing.
90 Day Fiancé Spoilers: Citra and Her Father Come to The States
To get her father’s blessing, Sam is going to have to prove himself. The couple will have less than two weeks to convince him that they should be together. He is coming to the States with Citra, but he will go back to Indonesia.
Citra hasn’t told her father about Sam’s past and his addiction. Will this news cause her father to take her back with him or will he allow her to stay with Sam and get married?
