There is no denying the power Taylor Swift holds in our society. She is one of the world’s most successful and beloved pop stars.
Truth be told, she is a gifted songwriter and adored by her fans for the creativity in her music. The praise and admiration she receives is well-deserved.
However, amid the war and terror in Israel, we may need to ask ourselves if Taylor is too focused on self-promotion and not enough on the concerns of her bazillion fans.
Just look at last night’s premiere of her Eras Concert movie. It was an all-out star-studded event, and it was probably very entertaining and impressive, but her Jewish fans were waiting for her to address the war.
Why Hasn’t Taylor Spoken About the War and Terror in Israel?
Swift has always spoken her mind about politics and used her platform as a celebrity to start crucial conversations. It makes you wonder why she didn’t so much as mention what is happening in Israel.
Fans were disappointed that Taylor didn’t speak about the crisis. Taylor is known for speaking her mind in general.
When she felt pressure from the music business to fit a specific image, she wasn’t shy about standing up for herself. However, her lack of vocal support for Israel has stunned many of her followers.
Some of Taylor’s fans took to social media to comment on her silence. One of her fans commented,
“I really wish Taylor Swift would stand with Israel and against Hamas terrorism.”
Another person said,
“Just an observation about Taylor Swift, who is quick to comment about Trump and is socially campaigning against Senator Marsha Blackburn, has said nada on the events and atrocities that took place in Israel over the past few days.”
Senator John McCain’s daughter, Meghan McCain, had a thing or two to say about her Eras concert film premiere during all the chaos and tragedy in Israel,
“Terrible timing. Kids are getting raped. Innocent people are dying on both sides. Hamas!! A terrorist organization is slaughtering Israelis…..But it’s launch day? I’m super disappointed in her.”
The World Premiere of the Eras Concert Film
At her Eras concert premiere, Taylor posed for several photo opportunities with Beyonce, making for beautiful pictures.
Taylor looked beyond gorgeous and positively charming in a sky-blue floral strapless Oscar De La Renta gown with matching sky-blue eyeshadow.
Queen B looked fetching in an all-black body suit and bustier. She completed the look with a pair of cool shades. No one looked more ready for publicity than the two of them.
Beyonce wasn’t the only celebrity to show up for the event. Adam Sandler and his daughters, Sunny and Sadie, were in attendance.
Simu Liu, Mariska Hargitay, Flavor Flav, Maren Morris, and Julia Garner appeared. Taylor hand-picked and specially selected the people who would get to go to her Eras world premiere.
Taylor’s concert film drew in a whopping $100 million in presale tickets alone, and fans can see it on Friday, October 13. Taylor’s uber-fans will note that 13 is the pop songstress’s favorite number.
