Maybe it’s just us, but ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers get the feeling that Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) is wearing out her welcome at Deception, or maybe she’s just wearing everyone else out.
She’s always been a bundle of energy and can go from pleasant to uber grating and annoying in a heartbeat, but she kept herself in check for the most part through Deception’s existence, and when she faltered, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was there to reign her in before she created a huge issue or mistake.
It’s been a good balance of give and take between Lucy’s energy and Maxie being grounded, but then Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) betrayed them and things went from bad to worse.
It can even be argued things started slipping before then when Lucy was secreted away for her own good and managed to nearly tank her company due to her rashness and the betrayal was just the final straw.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Bludgeoning Maxie into submission
Lucy’s recent push to find a new Face of Deception to avoid the bad press Sasha Gilmore (Amanda Setton) could bring after what she went through feels like she’s worn Maxie down.
Otherwise, we don’t see how Maxie would’ve let her get to the point where they interviewed and agreed in principle with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) as the new Face without ever talking to Sasha.
Maxie going along with Lucy so willingly surprised ‘General Hospital’ and we chalked it up to lazy writing or bad editing for cutting a scene we needed to see out at first, but then it dawned on us that this could simply be the price of working with Lucy.
She’s insistent and won’t listen to what anyone says on any level when she has her mind made up. It’s her best and worst quality.
It took Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Eliott) to come in and put her foot down to give Maxie a chance to come up for air and side with her to prevent them from fully alienating Sasha, who’s had enough betrayals to last her a lifetime.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Out of the loop
While Lucy’s still holding onto the belief that Sasha left Port Charles as a way to keep Blaze as the Face, Maxie’s more concerned with talking to Sasha about it like she intended to but backed out of.
Granted, she saw Sasha was leaving and didn’t want to upset her anymore and was there for her friend, but soon the tough discussion is going to happen.
Most likely, Sasha will arrive at Deception and hear Maxie and Lucy arguing over her and Blaze and she may make the decision for them, but not before she feels betrayed.
Hopefully they can work something out and maybe have two faces of Deception, which may be the best options when Brook Lynn finds out what’s going on and it could weigh her decision to accept Tracy’s gift.
The sad thing is this is Lucy’s brainchild and dream come true, and we’d hate to see her ruin it or be forced out, but it’s always a possibility.
