‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that the Daytime Emmys are right around the corner and nominations are beginning to drop. There are a ton of fantastic ladies on the show that are all worthy, and it showed in the nominations.
Not one… not two… but three Y&R women were nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series!
Leading the charge was Sharon Case (Sharon Rosales), who has always been around and always put out a great performance.
While she’s kind of been relegated to a background role lately, she always has something that the other characters need to hear and even helped Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) traverse the weird love triangle between Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Secondly, we have Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers), who has been the lead of the current storyline revolving around Jeremy Stark (James Hyde).
She faked her death, pinned it on Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), but now has killed Stark and is beginning to show her face to people again. It has been a whirlwind of a mess, and we’re not sure what could possibly come next.
Then we have Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson), who we think is a sho0-in for the award. It’s been a few months, but her storyline with struggling with suicide, mental illness and more really touched a lot of viewers and has had people talking about it for months.
While all of these ladies are splendid, I really think Egan has the best chance of taking home the award. Her other competition includes, ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’s’ Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester) and ‘General Hospital’s’ Finola Hughes (Anna Devane).
Best of luck to all of these wonderful actresses and we look forward to seeing who takes home the award at the end of that night.
