‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers indicates that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) has made the important decision to put family first.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Insurmountable Rift
Devon wasn’t very comfortable when the company he was running with his sister, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), was set for public offering. After the Chancellor and Hamilton-Winters merger, Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and Lily decided to pursue taking on investors and selling shares. Devon wasn’t comfortable with this.
Devon expressed his concern about the IPO but things proceeded, nonetheless. When it was discovered that Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) was giving secrets to the competitors as she prepared the IPO, it was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Devon wanted out.
Devon said he wanted out of the company since he never agreed with the IPO. However, he was not content to sell his part of the company to Lily or to Jill. He wanted to take his part of the company intact, even though there had already been a legally binding merger. He refused to accept the buyout and demanded the dissolution of the merger and the return of his company. He decided to sue them.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Family First
The lawsuit was destroying Devon’s relationship with Lily. While Lily felt she was trying to work it out by offering a buyout solution to Devon, Devon felt attacked. Lily hired his former girlfriend, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) as her attorney. This felt like personal attack to Devon. Every conversation ended in an argument and Devon and Lily could not make headway.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) confidentially approaches Jill to offer a private investment to keep the company from going public. When Devon learns this, he is able to drop the lawsuit. He doesn’t know who the investor is and why they are helping, but the company won’t be governed by outside influences.
Forgiving Lily and returning to the company himself will be much more difficult. What really changes things is when the Newmans dedicate the jazz lounge in the Sports Club to his father, Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John). This reminds him of the importance of family. Nothing should break apart that relationship. He decides that he will come back to work with Lily.
What do you think about this turn of events? Will Lily and Devon be able to work together again? Will they be able to trust one another? What about Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) and his offer to sell Devon McCall Unlimited? Will that go through, or will Victor Newman get his hands on it now?
