Tom Sizemore, a well-known actor known for his work in “Saving Private Ryan,” “Black Hawk Down,” and other legendary classics, has passed away.

The actor’s family had to make the difficult choice to take him off life support, and he passed away on Friday in a hospital in the Los Angeles region. The actor had been getting care since collapsing and going unconscious on February 18 at his residence due to a brain aneurysm.

Tom’s rep, Charles Lago said “It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (“Tom Sizemore”) aged 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph’s Hospital Burbank. His Brother Paul and twin boys Jayden and Jagger (17) were at his side.”

Sizemore’s legacy is undoubtedly clouded in controversy, particularly in his later years, but for a while, he was a lock in Hollywood, especially as he began to soar to fame after a series of pivotal roles throughout the 1990s, including the one he won in Spielberg’s World War II epic.

Around two in the morning, Tom was taken to the ER and was given a critical status report while being treated in the intensive care unit. He never felt himself again.

A week after the incident, Tom’s manager, Charles Lago, informed us that his situation was still not good; he was still in the intensive care unit and showing no signs of recovery. The medical staff at his facility reportedly suggested an end-of-life plan, outlining choices for the family. In addition, Lago claimed that Tom’s aneurysm was the consequence of the stroke that led to his passing out.

Sizemore portrayed Sergeant Horvath in “Saving Private Ryan,” where Tom Hanks and other notable actors went looking for Matt Damon’s character to relieve him of his duties. Sizemore gave a memorable performance that ultimately led to him receiving a few nominations for awards.
