According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, Prince Harry’s book titled “Spare” was a blunder that severely damaged his relationship with his brother Prince William.
Prince Harry’s Memoir Was A Mistake-Says Richard Fitzwilliams
Fitzwilliams stated there is a significant division within the Royal Family after the Duke of Sussex’s revealing memoir was published.
He also mentioned that the firm is no longer able to have faith in the Sussexes as they might choose to disclose any information shared with them.
When Harry’s book was published, it caused a new wave of criticism towards the Royal Family. This happened shortly after Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle’s documentary on Netflix accused the monarchy of various wrongdoings.
One of the most shocking accusations in the Spare book was that William had a dispute with Harry regarding Meghan, which resulted in an attack by William.
And yet, when Harry released his autobiography, it quickly became the best-selling non-fiction book of all time. The book not only targeted Prince William but also made negative comments about King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, and Kate Middleton.
According to Harry’s memoir, he was urged by the Prince and Princess of Wales to wear his controversial Nazi costume to a fancy dress party in 2005.
Not only that, but the book and Netflix series of the Sussexes have made damaging claims, including one where Harry alleged that his father, the King, told Princess Diana that his work was finished after she gave birth to their second son, who was considered a “spare.”
As a result of these claims, there is uncertainty whether Harry and Meghan will attend King Charles’ Coronation on May 6th, 2023.
With that being said, this is what Fitzwilliams had to say: “As far as we know, there isn’t any communication between William and Harry and Meghan, and you can see why, because William is undoubtedly shocked by what was in Spare.
“Also, there’s the problem that’s obvious, that anything said to the Sussexes could find its way into the media. You simply can’t trust them.”
Now that the book has been released, there is no getting away from what has been disclosed. And that has simply created a situation of damage limitation, knowing that the public perception towards Harry has changed.
