According to court documents, Prince Harry sent an email stating that he and his wife, Meghan Markle, were unable to pay for their own security until they were able to generate their own income.

Prince Harry Allegedly Sent An Email Claiming He Couldn’t Afford His Security

As a part of his legal action against the Mail on Sunday, Harry has revealed in court documents that a message about his request for police protection for him and his family during their UK visit was published by the newspaper and caused defamation.

Prince Harry Allegedly Sent An Email Claiming He Couldn't Afford His Security

During a court hearing, it was revealed that in April of 2020, Harry sent an email to Sir Edward Young, the late Queen Elizabeth’s private secretary, stating that their financial situation did not allow them to pay for private security until they could generate income.

In February 2022, a story was published by Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) which led to the prince filing a lawsuit against them.

ANL is disputing the allegation and stating that the article conveyed a truthful viewpoint and did not result in significant damage to the individual’s reputation.

According to the allegations, the Duke made two statements. Firstly, it was suggested that he made a false claim about his readiness to pay for police protection in the United Kingdom.

Secondly, he allegedly argued that his case against the Home Office was due to their denial of his offer to pay for the security.

After all, the Duke filed a complaint against the Home Office when he was informed that he would not receive the same level of personal security protection during his visits.

During the preliminary hearing in a libel case, which took place on Friday, 17th March 2023, the High Court in London was informed about the duke’s request to eliminate ANL’s piece.

With that being said, the social media response was clear. Large numbers of people were of the view that the couple had to get their priorities in order.

Therefore, failure to do this meant that they were coming across in a negative manner, given the wealth of riches they have at their disposal.

One person wrote: “He could afford a 14 bathroom mansion but not security,? His priorities were wrong there.

“Geez, I used to like PH but he’s exposed himself as a spoilt whining brat who does not take responsibility for his own life.”
