The speculation about Meghan Markle’s potential new project has caused a split among her supporters and detractors, as some have criticized the idea of her relaunching her personal blog as contradictory to her current status as a duchess.
Meghan Markle’s Blog The Tig Causes Uproar Amid Claims It Could Come Back
According to recent reports, it seems that The Tig, which was previously managed by Meghan before she met Prince Harry, may be making a comeback on the internet in the near future.
However, there are some who believe that Meghan’s interest in the wellness industry contradicts her previous involvement in charitable work.
Meghan has been granted initial approval to relaunch her website, which she shut down in 2017 when she became engaged to Prince Harry.
The website is expected to compete with Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, which is valued at £200 million. The details submitted to the US Trademark and Patent Office suggest that Meghan may also act as an advice columnist on the site.
Meghan’s website will provide insights and opinions on personal relationships. Fans of the Duchess of Sussex are eagerly anticipating the launch of the website, which may happen as early as next week.
The Duchess has received criticism from a columnist of the New Statesman, Charlotte Kilpatrick, for her writing focus on topics such as smoothies and yoga.
The columnist believed that the Duchess should be questioning the societal forces that allowed her and her husband to live in a palace.
The columnist believes that the Duchess could use her platform to address these issues. In her comments, Charlotte said: “This is the heart of the contradiction: interior design tips won’t help those families find a home, just like travel advice won’t help you recover from burnout when you can’t afford to go on vacation.”
After learning that Meghan was reviving her lifestyle blog, The Tig, the Duchess of Sussex’s critic stated that wellness is not the answer to the issues at hand.
She continued to express her disapproval, and prior to joining the Royal Family, Meghan maintained the blog, where she shared her preferred recipes, amusing pictures, and personal reflections.
And yet, the fact that the blog could return did not resonate well with the public on social media.
Large numbers of people made it clear that this was just an attempt to monetize another venture, which could backfire going forward.
One person wrote: “I hope Meghan remembers that once she posts her ‘opinions’, they can’t be retracted.”
