Omid Scobie, who happens to be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s biographer, has cautioned Prince Andrew against attempting to re-enter the public sphere.
Omid Scobie Warns Prince Andrew From Trying To Get Back Into Public Life
As the coronation of King Charles III approaches in May, it appears the Duke of York is searching for a way to regain a position of significance in the Royal Family after having lost his honorary titles and royal highness status.
Andrew has had to confront charges pertaining to Virginia Giuffre, who stated she was exploited by Jeffrey Epstein, while the Duke of York allegedly sexually assaulted her. While Andrew resolved the lawsuit outside of court, he has gone on to strongly refute any misconduct.
And yet, Scobie advised Andrew not to think that there is a way back for him. In his comments, he said: “Just like the several other times he attempted to squeeze himself back into public life, he’s once again forgetting the same key weakness – a lack of empathy.
“It’s ultimately what turned so many off after his car crash of a Newsnight interview aired in 2019.” This is not the only issue that Andrew will have to navigate though. Giuffre, who had only consented to an agreement of keeping quiet for a year after reaching an agreement with the Duke, has now inked a major agreement to publish a book.
Therefore, there is a possibility that there could be more damning revelations against Andrew. And even if he were to contest any claims, the damage would already have been done. And that could lead to the firm distancing themselves from Andrew even more.
Scobie added: “Over at the Palace, both King Charles and Prince William are said to be poised to do whatever is necessary to prevent Andrew from causing further embarrassment and shame to the institution of the monarchy.”
Time will tell how this will all play out moving forward. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
