He’ll take one back, but certainly not the other. There’s a new report that says King Charles is making it pretty clear that he’s open to reconciling with his son Prince Harry, but has made no indication that he is willing to do so with Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle. Here’s what you need to know.
Even though Harry has stated that the royals have made no indication to reach out to him, The Telegraph says that Charles really does want to fix things with his son. One source close to the situation even said, “Those close to the King insist that he has always made clear how much he loves both of his sons, keeping communication channels open throughout the last few years, despite the many barbs from California.”
King Charles Is Open To Reconciling With Prince Harry – But Not Meghan Markle
Not only that, but it also seems like Charles has made every effort that he could on his end to reach out to his son and turn whatever wrongs that are between them into rights. The tipster also said, “Father and son are understood to have remained in contact, meeting several times during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations last June. Their relationship has occasionally been tense but the King has repeatedly said that his door remains open and that the Duke and Duchess are welcome at any time.”
In an interview with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes, Harry suggested that there was a leaker within the royal family that would plant negative stories about him and his wife, Meghan. He said, “You know, the family motto is ‘never complain, never explain’ … it’s just a motto, and it doesn’t really … hold.”
He adds: “Through leaks, they will speak or have a conversation with the correspondent and that correspondent will literally be spoon-fed information and write the story, and at the bottom of it, they will say they reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment, but the whole story is Buckingham Palace commenting. So when we’re being told for the last six years we can’t put a statement out to protect you, but you do it for other members of the family, there becomes a point when silence is betrayal.”
