TLC If you were expecting her to spill the tea on brother Josh in the first chapter then you would be sorely disappointed. Rather, Jinger Duggar Vuolo is quick to say that this book is not a tell all and that she had a “wonderful childhood” but that it is a theological journey of her faith. Okay, we’ll go with that.

Then she proceeds to talk about, not brother Josh Duggar, but rather Joshua Harris, yeah, the guy who wrote “I kissed dating goodbye”? She rails him for giving classes on how to deconstruct one’s faith and says that she thinks that the whole deconstruction movement is harmful because she doesn’t really trust herself to make decisions.

Man, we’re waiting to see the tiktoks on this one.

She says she grew up in an unhealthy version of Christianity but one that perpetuates that you shouldn’t trust yourself is arguably not much healthier and it sounds like that’s where she is judging from this first chapter in her book. She also says that it is the most difficult book that she had ever written, but is it?

Considering she had help from Jeremy Vuolo‘s seminary friend in writing the book, it would seem that she had some of her work done for her. In fact, some are saying that it reads like a MacArthur sermon, which is what a lot of seminaries are teaching nowadays. It would seem that this branch of Christianity is under the impression that it has it “right” and the other ones don’t. Jinger seems to fall right into that category.

Jinger also says of the “free Jinger” forum on the internet that at first she didn’t like it,but then she thought that it was rather sweet that so many people wanted her to be free, even though Jinger never thought of herself as being caged up.

She goes into her thoughts about freedom and seems to have some misconceptions as to what that actually means, she thinks that freedom means freedom from accountability as well and that was not what anyone meant by that… weird definition, but, we’ll see what the next decade brings for her. Stay tuned!!!
