Netflix has put out a preview for a fresh documentary by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle entitled ‘Live to Lead,’ that will honour exemplary leaders from the past.

The Sussexes have already starred in their own docuseries ‘Meghan & Harry’, and they will now recognise individuals who have taken tough decisions. Some of the people that we can expect to feature in the series include none other Jacinda Ardern, Greta Thunberg, and even Nelson Mandela.

In the trailer, Harry can be heard praising Mandela by saying the following: “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we’ve lived,” while Meghan remarked: “It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

Nevertheless, those references could prove problematic for the following reasons. First of all, during her Archetypes podcast, Meghan did receive some backlash over her comments about South Africa. She referenced her 2019 royal tour of South Africa where she compared her accommodation to that of a ‘housing unit.’

Secondly, during her controversial interview with ‘The Cut,’ Meghan recalled how a South African cast member of the Lion King had rejoiced over her marrying into the firm by going so far as to state that people were rejoicing on the streets just as when Mandela was freed from prison.

And yet, the cast member fitting that description denied meeting Meghan. With that being said, the fans on social media had a lot to say about the matter. A significant proportion of people made it clear that the couple were not the best type of people to judge which people had made the most impact since they came from a life of royalty.

One person wrote: “Not sure what those two achieved in life to lecture and judge others.” If this is something you fancy watching, then it will air on Saturday, 31st December 2022.
