Royal fans were convinced that Kate Middleton intentionally tried to make a slight mockery of Meghan Markle, The Duchess of Sussex, by donning similar burgundy ensembles with other members of the firm during a Christmas carol event.

On the day of Kate’s Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey in London, many members of the Royal Family made an appearance wearing similar maroon outfits. This happened shortly after Meghan mentioned that she would often choose certain types of colours in order to avoid wearing the same-coloured clothing with other members of the Royal Family.
And in the process of doing so, she was trying not to come across as though she was outdoing any members of the firm. In her comments in the docuseries, Meghan said: “Most of the time I was in the UK, I rarely wore colour.
“I wore a lot of muted tones, but it was so I could just blend in. Like I’m not trying to stand out here. [I was told I] shouldn’t be wearing the same color as one of the other, more senior members of the family.”
If those comments are taken to be true, then they are very significant for the following reasons. First of all, it may suggest that Meghan was not telling the truth. After all, the pictures here show Kate, Pippa Middleton, Princess Charlotte and Zara Tindall wearing maroon colours.
Secondly, the fans on social media began to troll Meghan on the basis that her comments were not in touch with reality. One person wrote: “Loving the subtle hit back at Meghan yesterday saying she was forced to wear bland colours because you can’t clash with a senior royal.
“Imagining Kate’s group text saying “All wear your burgundy coat tonight.” In reality, royal protocol has changed since Meghan’s comments, or Kate was sending out a message. You take your pick.
