Footballer Amad Diallo has asked Sunderland supporters to be respectful and change their song that makes mention of the size of his penis.

Footballer Amad Diallo Begs Fans To Stop Chanting About His Penis-‘We Need To Be Respectful, Let’s Change The Song’

Since he was loaned out to the North East team by Manchester United during the summer, the player has caught the eye with four goals across 14 matches. Diallo’s popularity among the supporters of the Black Cats has resulted in them composing a chant to honour him that involves a racial stereotype about his penis.

In his comments, Diallo said: “Sunderland fans, I’ve had an amazing time so far and I love your energy. Hearing you sing my name is incredible, but we need to be respectful. Let’s change the song, keep the noise and move forward together. Ha’way the lads.”

Despite the young player’s request, it has been reported that the audience could still be heard singing the chant, with the profane line intact. Much in the same way, while footballer Romelu Lukaku was at Manchester United, he asked the United supporters to stop belting out a song that was referencing the size of his penis.

In his comments at the time, he remarked: “Great backing since I joined United. Fans have meant well with their songs but let’s move on together. #respecteachother.” The response on social media was much the same.

A significant proportion of people demanded that there had to be some action taken in order to prevent this type of behaviour from being directed towards players. After all, it is bound to have an impact on their mental health. And in the process of doing so, they expressed their mass condemnation of the behaviour.

One person wrote: “There needs to be an honest conversation about the behaviour of many Sunderland fans. The supporters clubs need to pledge for a reset. The atmosphere has been ugly often at home and not conducive to taking family’s to games.”
