A local couple in Minnesota was outraged after receiving a spiteful note from an anonymous person complaining about their holiday decorations and demanding them to ‘tame it down.’
Couple In Minnesota Slam Their ‘Grinch’ Neighbour After Being Told To Take Their Christmas Decorations Down
The couple, Adam Duncan and Brandi Joy, said they were extremely offended after being criticised for displaying their Christmas joy in their garden in Burnsville. In previous years, the couple has won the Burnsville yard decorating contest, and encouraged others to decorate their own homes.
Duncan, however, was crushed by a local who dispatched the following note: “Neighbour, your yard decorations (if you can call it that) are very much an eyesore for the neighborhood. Please stop or at least tame it down!!! Thank you!! Riverwood Drive Residence.”
In addition to posting the message on multiple Facebook groups, Joy was fueled with anger, calling the anonymous author a ‘Grinch.’ The post instantly went viral, as it received a lot of responses.
This is given that Duncan had been left in tears. Not only that, but the response was so far reaching that people in other countries began to reach out and offer some words of assurance.
In her comments, Joy remarked: “I’ve had people reach out from Australia, England, all over the United States, all over Minnesota, asking if they can send us Christmas cards, if they can donate anything, telling me their stories of how Christmas really helped.”
That was not the only important part, though. The decorating has allowed Duncan to keep up his sobriety journey. And by giving him something positive to focus on, it has made the holiday season that more special.
After all, it has been a very difficult period following the pandemic and economic problems with the cost of living. But for Duncan, those decorations have kept him smiling. He stated: “I have gotten sober is knowing that I can do something.”
It is fair to say that this will be a Christmas to remember for the couple. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
