We know that she can do it. Rihanna has said she hasn’t decided whether or not she will have any special guests performing alongside her during her Super Bowl performance but admits “it’s gonna be great either way.” Here’s what you need to know.
According to reports, the multi-award-winning singer is set to take to the stage for the Super Bowl LVII halftime show at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona in February 2023, and says she is unsure if she will be bringing some of her peers on stage.
Rihanna Might Work The Super Bowl Halftime Show Solo
Speaking to E! News, she said: “Twelve minutes? You could actually do that by yourself, but it’s one of those things where you can decorate it however you want. So whether I choose to do it for myself or whether I choose to bring some of my peers on, it’s… I don’t know what I’m gonna do yet.”
If the 34-year-old star does decide to perform on her own she will be the first female artist to do so since Lady Gaga’s performance in 2017.
Just last month, Rihanna made an appearance at the world premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with her rapper boyfriend ASAP Rocky, after welcoming their first child earlier this year. Her new track, Lift Me Up, has been released.
Asked how the partnership had come about, director Ryan Coogler said that many “improbable” things had to take place before it was realized. “Honestly, I think it was Chad,” the 36-year-old told the PA news agency, speaking on the event’s red carpet. “A lot of improbable things needed to happen for it to come through and Rihanna was very clear that she did that for him.”
The singer last released solo music in 2016 with her eighth studio album Anti. Last month she also revealed she will be performing at the next Super Bowl halftime show. It will be her first performance in years.
