Jay Leno is being treated for his severe burns in several ways.
Jay Leno Being Treated In A Hyperbaric Chamber Following Face Burns
A picture of Jay Leno in a hyperbaric chamber, published by “Inside Edition,” shows his left arm bandaged up to his elbow while his right hand is the only part covered. There is gauze covering Leno’s entire face, revealing only his eyes and mouth.
Peter Grossman, who happens to be Leno’s physician, explained that hyperbaric chambers help to “decrease swelling” and “increase blood flow with good oxygenation,” and decrease bacteria.
Leno, 72, underwent one surgery on Wednesday that Grossman described as a “grafting procedure” and was in “good” condition. The doctor said that Leno’s injuries were serious but that his condition was good, and that he ‘did well’ during the first surgery.
This is welcome news in light of what has happened. Leno had been working on his 115-year-old car over the weekend when a fuel leak and a simultaneous spark in his 1907 White Steam Car caused an explosion. He credited his friend Dave with saving him by immediately putting out the flames.
In a statement, Leno said: “I am fine; I just need a few weeks to get back on my feet.” The burns Leno sustained in the freak accident covered his face, hands, and chest, according to Grossman. He also said that Leno will make a “full recovery” from his injuries but did not specify how long the process might take.
The fans on social media were hoping that Leno’s condition would improve. And as a result, they sent him some very warm words indeed. One person wrote: “Really sad – speedy recovery. Oh, and I’m happy it wasn’t a @Tesla. Can you imagine the s**t Elon would’ve received?”
The sooner Leno recovers, the better it is for everyone. And the fans will be there to support him every step of the way to make sure that he is fine. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
