Andy Cohen has been shocked by Bethenny Frankel’s decision to launch her “Rewives” podcast.

The former star of the ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ has been very vocal about her time on the show. So much so that she has been accused of unfairly bashing her former co-stars.
This was on the grounds that the premise of the podcast does involve her rewatching some of the previous episodes with her guests, as they use the episodes to speak on topical matters. But for Andy, he could not fathom why Bethenny would want to speak about her time on the show, which she ultimately did not enjoy.
In his comments, he said: “She’s been trashing the show for the last three years. So I was like, ‘She’s been talking about that it’s toxic,’ and it’s this and every bad thing you can think she has been quoted saying about the show…and now she’s doing a ‘Housewives’ recap podcast.”
Nevertheless, it is important to add some much-needed context to those comments. First of all, Frankel made it clear that she wanted to get her own side of the story across. And given that she did not play a part in the editing of the franchise, she felt she had some unfinished business.
Secondly, there is always an argument that Bethenny should be allowed to do whatever she wants. After all, she has earnt that right by being an OG member of the franchise. That is why Andy did acknowledge Bethenny by wishing her well with her ventures.
His following comments confirmed as much: “But again I was like, ‘Oh, this is good, good for you.’ The more ‘Housewives’ podcasts the better.” Regardless of what you may think about Bethenny, at least her podcast will keep the show relevant. And that can only be a good thing moving forward.
