Actor O Yeong-su has been charged with sexual misconduct after touching a woman inappropriately, according to authorities.

A woman reported in mid-2017 that the Golden Globe winner Yeong-su touched her inappropriately, leading to his indictment by South Korean prosecutors on Thursday, 24th November 2022.
The complainant had allegedly filed a police complaint last December, but police did not charge him with a crime. However, the prosecutors reopened the case and investigated the claims. Yeong-su has denied doing anything of the sort.
The actor reportedly said last year that he had ‘held hands with a woman to guide her around a lake’ in response to the allegations. Yeong-su apologised to the woman, but said he had because she indicated ‘she would not make a fuss about it’
This is the last thing that Yeong-su will want clouding him. The South Korean actor received the nation’s first Golden Globe for the Netflix series Squid Games. President Moon Jae-in congratulated the cast and crew, as the show became an all-time hit.
And as part of that process, it involved a series of games where contestants played lethal games in an attempt to win a prize worth 45.6 billion. When speaking about his decision to join the franchise, Yeong-su spoke on the importance of the show addressing societal irregularities.
He stated: “Our society goes by as if only No. 1 survives. No. 2 lost to No. 1, but beat No. 3. After all, everybody is a winner.” The social media response was damning. A significant proportion of the fanbase questioned the actor’s conduct by stating that something did not sound right.
One person wrote: “I never seen the movie. But he does look strange,” while another person stated: “I felt something was off about that dude.” The only thing left to do is let the authorities investigate the matter and come to a conclusion.
