Music Mogul Simon Cowell Recalls How His Son Eric Changed His Life For The Better
Cowell, for his part, is known for making massive shows in the entertainment industry. He has been responsible for shows, including Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor. And as these shows have gone on to have their respective versions across the world, it has left Cowell preoccupied with finding the next star.
But it had reached a point where he admitted that he had become consumed by work, which has now changed following Eric’s arrival. In his comments, Simon said: “If Eric hadn’t come along, God knows what would have happened. Before Eric, my life was 99 percent work. I was obsessed with it.”Â
As such, Eric managed to have a positive outlook on Cowell’s life. He expanded on how he started to become really ‘unhappy’ prior to Eric’s arrival. And as Cowell had the experience of losing his parents, he admitted that he felt he could not replicate the love he had for them through anything else.
So work began to fill that void, but when Eric arrived, Simon was taken aback about how much affection he had for him. His following comments confirmed as much: “After I lost my mum and my dad, you kind of think you’re never going to feel that love again — that’s it.
“Then you have kids, and, though I never thought I would feel that way, it’s beyond your love for your parents.” And by having Eric by his side, it provides the perfect opportunity to pass on that work ethic to the next generation.
It is not exactly clear if Simon has plans for Eric to follow in the same line of work, but one thing for sure is that if he does want to do so, then he could not be in a better place.Â
