In a move that should surprise no one, since Elon Musk now seems to be in the business of letting crackpots get off scot-free, Kanye West has now been allowed to return to Twitter. Why? Simply because the platform now believes in freedom from any consequences of any speech ever.
It doesn’t seem to matter that Kanye West has started expressing outright hate for Jewish people, going so far as to say that he’s “going death con 3” on them. It seems that Twitter is all about that life now, just ask the millions of PoCs who felt targeted after a certain racial slur rose to an astronomical level when Elon Musk took over.

But according to Musk it all falls under freedom of speech and private companies can’t police their users. Freedom of speech only extends to when the government wants to come after a private citizen, it doesn’t say anything about how a company can’t discipline it’s users for inviting hate speech against, oh, I don’t know, an entire race of people?
One might argue that Kanye was just kidding but there are certain things that it will never be cool to say – this is one of them. Also, when did mass genocide become “funny”? Because the last time we checked it wasn’t. Most people don’t take what Kanye West says seriously but there are some isolated, hardcore fans that do, and what then?
Ye doesn’t really seem to realize that someday his words might have some sever consequences for him. Just ask Alex Jones, he kept spreading a hateful, lie-filled rhetoric about a tragedy and now he is stuck owing millions of dollars to families and is the laughing stock of, well, pretty much everyone.
Ye, so far, has just lost brand deals which is bad enough for him in the long run, but if he keeps on with this rhetoric then he could have some major consequences to face up to that might result in more than a loss in of brand deals for him. He’s not been back on Twitter for very long, so he hasn’t had time to screw up yet but… give it time. Stay tuned!!!
