The rapper has faced huge backlash ever since he vowed to go ‘def con 3’ on Jewish people which has resulted in numerous brands cutting ties with him. This has included Adidas, Balenciaga and J.P Morgan which has had the impact of Kanye allegedly losing his billionaire status.
And given that the rapper does have a lot of expenses that he incurs, this could prove very problematic unless he finds other ventures to support his lifestyle.
A source confirmed the following: “West has five sources of income, and that four of them have been either completely shut down or badly compromised by his anti-Semitic outburst and support for white supremacists.”
This naturally begs the question: what alternatives can Kanye do? Well, it is claimed that he does have an album in the works, but the chances of that generating a lot of money are slim. He had been on course to perform at the SoFi Stadium, LA in November. However, the venue decided to cancel him in light of the recent controversies.
Not only that, but the star has failed to find a distribution deal to get his album out there. And in any event, even if the album does end up going platinum, which may end up doing, that would still not be enough to support Kanye’s expenses.
The following comments confirmed as much: “That’s about enough to pay his gas bill for his jet.” The fans on social media felt that the rapper had nobody to blame but himself. And in the process of doing so, they failed to show any sympathy for what he was going through.
One person wrote: “Actions meet consequences.” It is clearly a problematic time for the star which is why he will need to be more careful with his words moving forward. But is it all too late?
