Ever since Jeff Wittek’s lawsuit for $10M went through against David Dobrik, we haven’t really seen much of the former vlogger, at least not on his former stomping grounds of youtube. Why is Jeff Wittek sueing him for $10M?
He’s suing because of an accident he sustained while David used an excavator – a piece of heavy machinery that he did not have a license to operate – to swing some of his buddies around in the middle of the ocean. He went too fast and Jeff unfortunately hit the side of the excavator with his head, sustained an eye injury and permanent brain damage causing him to have to have multiple surgeries on his eye.
Is David Dobrik done with youtube?
For the absolute longest time, Jeff kept mum about the accident and didn’t say anything. Some of it was because David was his friend, some of it was because he had friends in the vlog squad (Dobrik’s team) that he was convinced wouldn’t speak to him again if he went against David.
However, his fans kept telling him that he needed to sue Dobrik simply to get his medical bills paid. Finally, he did, and just as he suspected a lot of his vlog squad friends turned their backs on him.
One person in the youtube vlogosphere that was determined to tell the truth about the situation seemed to be Casey Neistat who did an entire documentary that he showcased at the South by Southwest film festival.
He himself has expressed a lot of sympathy for Wittek, unlike Dobrik himself whom Wittek is quite ticked off at because according to him Dobrik has not checked up on him for awhile, this started before there was mention of any lawsuit.
There was also his vlog-squad associated friends who would tell Jeff that he needed to keep on good terms with Dobrik, again, that was before any mention of any lawsuit ever happened which is just strange, it was almost as if they knew something that Jeff didn’t. Speaking of which, now that Dobrik seems to have moved on from youtube, what exactly is he doing?
Good question. It seems that he has moved onto tiktok, but he has also started investing in a ton of businesses all across the board. Where did he get all of this money?
Looks like his interest in the DISPO app bought out (anyone remember that from a couple of years ago?) and now it looks like Dobrik has money to burn and probably won’t be starting up vlogging anytime soon again due to the dividends he gets from investing in other businesses. Let’s hope the businesses are successful, he has to pay Jeff’s medical bills some way… stay tuned!!!
