King Charles III’s coronation is reportedly set to take place on Saturday, 23rd June 2022.

According to Bloomberg, the coronation is set to be a lot smaller than prior ones. This would fit in line with the notion of Charles having slimmed-down the monarchy going forward.
And this event is ultimately designed so that the new monarch swears his oath before the country in light of being the Head of State.
Although Charles did take the throne two days after Queen Elizabeth II’s death, the ceremony will formally represent the beginning of his life as the monarch.
And as part of that process, Queen Consort Camilla is also expected to join and be crowned with him. If the ceremony goes ahead on the date that is planned, Charles will be 74-years-old by then.
This would be a significant step since he would become the oldest person to ever be crowned as a king in the history of Britain. And it is fair to say that he does have huge footsteps to follow in.
Queen Elizabeth II was the longest serving monarch in British history, as well as being the longest Head of State. And that is something that Charles did recognise.
In some prior comments, he stated: “My mother’s reign was unequaled in its duration, its dedication and its devotion. Even as we grieve we give thanks for this most faithful life.
“I am deeply aware of this great inheritance and of the duties and heavy responsibilities of sovereignty which have now passed to me.”
Nevertheless, there are some questions to consider. It will be fascinating to see if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make an appearance as a way to show support and unity behind the royals.
In addition, there is a long way to go before that happens which is why Charles will have to do everything in his power in order to come across as a popular king. Time will tell how it all plays out.
