Olivia Wilde has hit back at claims that she has abandoned her children after having been seen on numerous occasions without them.
Olivia Wilde Slams Claims That She Overlooks Her Kids
The actress currently has custody of her kids with her ex Jason Sudeikis following their split. And after having moved on from him by hooking up with Harry Styles, the pair have been pictured on numerous occasions without her children being present.
That has led to criticism that Olivia is not taking time out for her kids, amid her recent busy schedule in the promotion and release of her film ‘Don’t Worry Darling.’ And yet, Olivia felt that the same energy was not being shown to men.
She expanded on how there would not be the same perception if a man was pictured in a similar way to her. And in order to counter this backlash, she gave an adequate explanation over why this was the case. She admitted that she made a conscious decision to keep her children away from the limelight by avoiding any media intrusion.
In this way, her children will be protected from the negative perceptions that can emerge at the hands of the media. But in any event, this is a catch-22 as it inadvertently leads to the suggestion that she is not spending time with them.
In her comments, she said: “You know why you don’t see me with my kids? Because I don’t let them get photographed. Do you know the lengths that I go to protect my kids from being seen by you? When people see me not with my kids, it’s always ‘How dare she.'”
The fans on social media could not help but troll Olivia. A certain subset of people felt that her conduct did not help matters, which is why they shaded her. One person wrote: “Do you know where your kids are?”
