Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis have agreed to work on a “Freaky Friday” sequel, so if Disney wants to make a follow-up, both original stars are on board. Lindsay would be interested in a “Freaky Friday” sequel, according to sources close to her, but she hasn’t heard anything from the Mouse House—at least not yet.
During her publicity tour for her new “Halloween” movie, Jamie made at least two mentions of the possibility of making a sequel to her 2003 film with Lindsay. Jamie Lee Curtis pitched Disney while appearing on “The View” on Monday; she wants to play a grandma who swaps places with Lindsay’s parent character.
Lindsay Lohan Is Completely Down For ‘Freaky Friday 2’, Sounds Like Jamie Lee Curtis Is In As Well
Sources claim that Lindsay hasn’t spoken to Jamie about filming a sequel, but they also claim that she has heard rumors of both a “Freaky Friday” and a “Mean Girls” sequel. Since Lohan’s return to acting, these are some things that have been highly sought after and something fans have been looking forward to.
While ‘Mean Girls’ would be an interesting story to tell now that they are 18 years later than their ‘high school’ counterparts, a ‘Freaky Friday 2’ would seem like a much easier route to go and if both the leads are onboard, it seems like Disney would be silly to let this money train get away from them.
It would be the perfect Disney+ release and something a lot of people would watch together at home, much like ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ that just recently released. This one may be coming to fruition soon and is something to definitely keep an eye out for.
