Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About The Love She Still Has For Brad Pitt

90’s, are you still there? Gwyneth Paltrow has said that she is a “big fan” of Brad Pitt and that she “adores” her former fiancé. Paltrow and Pitt dated in the 90s and became engaged in 1996. The couple parted ways later that year. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Paltrow shared that when the couple first decided to end their relationship, they weren’t on friendly terms, but found their “way back” a few years later. The Oscar-winning actress said: “When we first broke up, we weren’t friends for a while and then we sort of found our way back, probably about 18 or 19 years ago, something like that, and then just kind of stayed in touch over the years.

Paltrow added: “I adore him. He’s an amazing person, and he’s a great entrepreneur, and such a creative, and such a good person. I really love him. I’m a big fan.”

Paltrow who is now married to Brad Falchuk also revealed that her husband “totally respects” the friendship she has with Pitt. She said: “Probably one of the things that he likes about me is that I believe in conscious uncoupling. Whether you’re uncoupling with a coworker, a spouse, a boyfriend, I really do believe that if you’ve invested in somebody – and of course there are exceptions – to amputate that relationship … maybe you’re not then fully letting the full lesson reveal itself and the healing happen.”

She continued, “So even though sometimes it can be uncomfortable, I think it’s nice to work through it and reconnect with the value that that person brought to your life.”

Paltrow is now married to producer Brad Falchuk and said that it had taken her 20 years but that she had “finally found the Brad I was supposed to marry.” Ok, gurl. Sitting down for a conversation featured on Paltrow’s Goop website, the two recalled Pitt’s relationship with Paltrow’s late father, Bruce Paltrow.

“What impact did he have on you? Why did you love him, even though we didn’t get married, unfortunately,” Paltrow said.

“Oh man, everything works out, doesn’t it?… And it’s lovely to have you as a friend now… And I do love you,” Pitt replied.

He continued: “One of the many things I loved about Bruce – because he did have a profound effect on me and is someone I still think about – was he really fostered your voice, your independence. He carved the way for you guys to be who you are. And I think that’s so important to parenting. You guys were just so free in your conversations. And witty. And intelligent… He could be tough if he needed to be, but it would be rare – only if someone was out of line.”
