Update After Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa Rushed To Hospital After Terrible Head Injury During TNF, Why Was He Even Playing?

The Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was taken to the hospital after what appeared to be a serious head injury during “Thursday Night Football.” In the second quarter of Miami’s game against the Bengals, the 24-year-old quarterback was thrown to the ground after being tackled by a defender.

Tagovailoa’s head struck the ground hard, and he appeared to lose consciousness right away. Before they could strap him to a backboard and take him to a hospital in Cincinnati, trainers and team members rushed to treat him.

The Dolphins say he, thankfully, “is conscious and has movement in all his extremities.” Tagovailoa left last week’s game against the Bills after getting hurt on a similar play, though he and the team later told the media that he had only hurt his back.

However, many are wondering why in the world he was even out there. After last week when he returned to finish the game, many don’t think he really cleared the concussion protocol and he was still terribly hurt. Yet, he still ended up back on the field.

The fact that he was even out there on Thursday night is very confusing. Now with two nasty injuries in a row, he could miss out on the rest of his season, or even career. Head injuries are nothing to ignore, and I think that the Miami Dolphins are going to be having some visits from the NFL over the next week.

Their doctor in particular should feel a bit worried that they let Tua back out last week, let alone let him go out this week. Thankfully, it seems like he is okay and he has movement in his arms and legs, but he’s not out of the woods yet. We wish the best for Tua and his family.

What do you think? Should Tua have been out there and do you think there are going to be some investigations into the doctors involved? Let us know in the comments below.
