With the news of a divorce between Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno, fans of The Family Chantel are curious what will happen next with the couple. It is clear that Pedro has been unhappy for a while now and that is why he told Chantel that he wants a divorce.
It has been hard for her because she has been trying to keep their marriage together. It doesn’t seem as if she can do anything else to help keep it together and in the newest clip for the next episode, it looks like Pedro is going to see a divorce lawyer about some things.
The Family Chantel: Pedro Seeks Help
In the trailer for the next episode, Pedro tells the cameras that their marriage isn’t working and that Chantel is still not giving him the space that he asked for. He says, “She sometimes gets very angry. And sometimes she tries to get in my room.” We will see him meet with his lawyer, Afiya Hinkson.

He explains to her, “I’m here today to get options about filing and my separation and learning a little bit more about divorce. Also, this lawyer has a specialization in immigration and I want to talk to her about my status in the United States.”
The lawyer told Pedro some very interesting facts about his immigration status. She pointed out that Chantel is responsible for him financially. She signed an Affidavit of Support that lasts 10 years after he gets his green card. The lawyer added, “Divorce does not change the financial obligation.” Pedro then said, “I just want to be fair. I don’t want to be that kind of person that wants to take everything. 50/50, that’s it.”
In a confessional, his lawyer said, “He’s entitled to certain things regardless of your immigration status. It’s unfortunate that when you come over here, a lot of people think that you’re doing it with ill intentions. I think that knowing your right, him understanding what he can and can’t get is important.”
Chantel and Pedro have been married for six years and he decided to call it off. They both have restraining orders against one another now. Chantel has filed claims that he cheated on her and that the way he treated her was cruel. She hinted at domestic violence as well. She told her fans, “our marriage is irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.”
