George Clooney Regrets Teaching His Kids Italian-‘They Can Harm Us’
The Hollywood actor is currently married to Amal Clooney, with whom he shares his twins, Alexander and Ella. While speaking Italian is a major milestone, especially since the children are only 5-years-old, the fact of the matter is that Clooney and his wife do not speak it.
As such, not only are they not able to communicate with them through it, but it has also allowed the children to get up to a lot of mischief. In his comments, Clooney said: “We made a terrible mistake. We taught them Italian… but we don’t speak Italian.
“We’ve armed them with a language they can harm us with, and we don’t really know what they’re saying.” That has not only been the obstacle to navigate, though. It turns out that Alexander takes after his father for being a prankster.
And as part of that process, Alexander is a massive fan of the superhero Batman. And as George played the caped crusader in the past, fans could have been forgiven for thinking that Alexander would have been impressed. And yet, it turned out to be anything but that.
George’s following comments confirmed as much: “Our son is now a big prankster. You’ve taught him all of these lessons and now he’s pranking his dad back. I go, “You know, I was Batman. [He replies] Yeah, but not anymore.”
The fans on social media were surprised by the introduction of Italian to the children. And in the process of doing so, they felt that perhaps Spanish would have been a better fit in light of them being American.
One person wrote: “George Clooney saying his kids speak Italian & French. You would think as an American he would favour Spanish but of course he doesn’t. Some Americans despise the Spanish language, they have a complex about it based on ignorance. Sad but a reality.”
