Shia LaBeouf Blasts Olivia Wilde’s Claims That She Fired Him From The Film ‘Don’t Worry Darling’-‘It Is Not The Truth’
The actor set the record straight by confirming that he decided to walk away from the film, as opposed to being removed. This goes completely against the narrative that Wilde was pushing, as she apparently claimed that Shia was fired in order to protect the film’s lead actress Florence Pugh.
With that being said, Shia felt he had no choice but to combat the false narrative that would have damaged his reputation. And in the process of doing so, he made it clear that it was his decision to walk away since he could not commit to filming.
In response, Shia remarked: “You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors and I couldn’t find time to rehearse. Firing me never took place, Olivia…It is not the truth”
If those comments are taken to be true, then they are very significant for the following reasons. First of all, it would imply that Olivia was looking to gain some extra publicity for the film by using Shia’s name in this way.
Secondly, if it does turn out that Olivia created this false narrative, then one must ask whether she has something personal against the actor. After all, there was no reason for her to do this since there are plenty of other actors available.
And in any event, the chances of Shia going back to work with Wilde are as good as dead following this incident. It is fair to say that Shia and Wilde are not going to be on good terms anytime soon. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
