Jojo Siwa has responded to criticism she received after she claimed that she disapproved of the term lesbian.
Pansexual Jojo Siwa Responds After Claims She Doesn’t Like The Word Lesbian
JoJo, for her part, did come out as a member of the LGBTQ community. But since that moment, she has chosen to define herself as a pansexual. Therefore, she did not take too kindly to the word Lesbian being used in relation to herself. So much so that she did not hide her disgust for it.
In an interview with Yahoo! Life, JoJo remarked: “I don’t like the word itself. It’s just like a lot. But I mean, at the end of the day, that’s what I am. It’s like the word moist. It’s just like… ugh!”
Those comments resulted in Siwa getting a huge amount of backlash. This was on the basis that she had offended those that had chosen to identity as lesbians. And by not recognising the label, JoJo was called out for being hypocritical. After all, when she made the decision to come out, that is what she wanted others to do.
But in order to set the record straight, JoJo has now come out and cleared up any misconceptions that may have emerged. In response to the comments, JoJo remarked: “I don’t hate the word lesbian, whenever someone talks to me about my sexuality I just say that I’m gay.
“It’s not the word that flows off the tongue for me, if that makes sense.” The fans on social media, though, had a lot to say about JoJo’s comments. And they felt she had failed to provide a reasonable response for her words.
One person wrote: “I just saw that Jojo Siwa said that the word “lesbian” it’s like the word moist????? Girl tf.” In reality, the only person who knows her intentions is JoJo herself. But perhaps she should be more prudent in future. So there you have it folks.
