Josh Peck has opened up on his 14-year-sobriety journey that has forever changed his life.

Josh Peck Credits His 14-Year-Sobriety Journey For Shaping His Life – ‘It’s Really The Bedrock Of My Life’

The actor had extensive substance abuse issues characterised by alcohol and drugs that resulted in him entering into rehab in 2008. This arrived on the back end of Peck losing an incredible 128 pounds. However, the euphoria caused by the weight loss resulted in him developing a drug and alcohol problem.

But by having the support of his mother and wife (Paige O’Brien) by his side, Josh has managed to navigate his problems for the better. In his comments, he said: I’m lucky to have found recovery through a 12 steps program almost 14 years ago and it’s something that I still do regularly to this day.

“It gives me a lot of structure in my life. It’s really the bedrock of my life and from it, all these wonderful things have been built.” But that has not been the only thing that has kept his life in a solid place.

He is already a father to his three-year-old son Max. Not only that, but he is expecting his second child with Paige which has given the Peck family a lot to look forward to. And given that Peck was brought up by his single mother, it was difficult for him to approach fatherhood with any confidence.

But just like his substance abuse issues, Josh was able to overcome them. His following comments confirmed as much: “Having a father in so many ways would have hopefully given me structure or a manual on being a dad.

“But thankfully, I had enough apostles in my life, my father-in-law, who I really look up to.” It is great to see Josh having come a long way, and hopefully for him, Paige’s pregnancy goes ahead without any complications.

And that would cap off more happy memories for the star. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
