According to reports, the event is set to go ahead on Monday, 29th August 2022. And it is alleged that Depp may appear as the network’s Moonman mascot. This just so happens to be the symbol that is apparent on the award which is given out at the ceremony, as shown here.
Not only that, but it is also alleged that the star will have a ‘face off’ in and amongst LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow. And with Depp’s recent rebranding in the form of his music career, his stock has only gone up since his defamation trial victory against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp may not be up for any awards this time around, but the actor does have a rich history in the event. As of now, he has grabbed five Moonmen awards. And if his movie career kicks off once again, which it is expected to do so, then Depp’s name will most likely be in the hat for future awards.
Much in the same way, Depp has been benefitting in other areas too. He recently signed another deal to be the face of Dior’s Sauvage cologne extending his partnership with the brand that he had become synonymous with prior to his trial with Heard.
The fans on social media were delighted to see Depp getting the recognition that he deserved following his recent struggles. And in the process, the comments were very positive indeed. One person wrote: “Good! He deserves better than what he was given.”
It will be fascinating to see how Depp is received at a major event once again, but based on the social media response, his stock will only rise. The same cannot be said for Heard, though, whose career has been called into question.
