Holly Madison, a former playmate, called her relationship with Hugh Hefner “traumatic” and “hell.” In the first episode of their podcast, “Girls Next Level,” Madison and fellow ex-playmate Heather McDonald opened up about life in the Playboy Mansion and their private encounters with the Playboy founder.
He was immobile. When it came to her sex with Hefner, Madison, 42, described him as “like a bump on the log in the middle of the bed.” Because they weren’t “into it,” the reality TV star said, the women at the mansion “wanted to get [the sex] over with as quickly as possible.”

Madison continued and claimed it was a “chore”, “We thought of it as a chore that we had to do or else we’ll get kicked out of the house. Everybody just wanted to make it go by as quickly as possible.” Additionally, group sex was not going to improve the situation. It was “embarrassing,” said both McDonald and Madison, who also observed that there was a lot of tension among the women.
“I can’t explain to you guys how embarrassing that whole routine was, especially as we got later down the road when there would be a lot of conflict with the other girls,” Madison continued to say.
After the first night, she was intimate with Hefner, she continued by saying that she felt “no other option” but to move into the mansion and “be a girlfriend.” Madison said, “I think the whole experience of living in the mansion was traumatic for me.
After dating Hefner from 2001 to 2008, she moved on to promoter of music festivals Pasquale Rotella. They were married in 2013 after meeting in 2011 and having two children together. They called it quits in 2018 and divorced amicably in 2019.
