Elon Musk’s ex Grimes has slammed Mark Zuckerberg’s attempts to become a pioneer for the Metaverse.

The Metaverse is simply a virtual reality whereby users can engage with each other in a virtual world. And as part of that process, Grimes spoke out against Zuckerberg’s attempts to become one of the leaders.

She was of the view that he was not qualified enough, which may have partly been because of the fact that Grimes did date none other than Tesla CEO Elon Musk. With that being said, Grimes did not hold back. In a post to her fans on Twitter, Grimes shared a picture of Zuckerberg in what appeared to be a Metaverse avatar of himself.

The post was captioned by the following comments: “If Zuck “oversees the Metaverse” it is dead and people who care about art and culture are building something else. Also this is bad art.”

This criticism had initially arrived when people expressed backlash towards Zuckerberg’s avatar, which forced him to publish another one. At the time of the criticism, though, the Facebook mogul justified the perceived poor quality image on the basis that he wanted to launch it as soon as possible to celebrate the company’s foray into the Metaverse.

Although that may have been the case, the fact of the matter is that Grimes has not been impressed. Her following comments confirmed as much: “The quality of this image alone speaks to how wildly under qualified he is to build alternate reality, literally every indie game looks better.”

The fans on social media resonated with Grimes’ concerns. A certain subset of people were of the view that Facebook had to get others on board in order to make some significant headway.

One person wrote: “I feel like Zuck has good intentions but he’s not letting the right people control things, and he’s got his hand too much into it because hes passionate but not able to let go and let the artist do their job.”
