Put to rest any lingering questions about whether celebrities would once again support Johnny Depp in light of his legal victory over Amber Heard. Depp is the big beneficiary of Dior’s new contract. Recently, Johnny re-signed with Dior to serve as the face of their Sauvage men’s fragrance. It is reportedly a multi-year deal worth seven figures in total.
According to Business of Fashion, Sauvage has surpassed popular women’s scents from Chanel and other top brands to become the world’s best-selling fragrance since Depp first signed with Dior in 2017. The recent agreement was finalized after Dior executives and well-known fashion photographer Greg Williams supported JD by attending one of Johnny and Jeff Beck’s rock concerts in Paris.
Johnny Depp Pens New 7-Figure Deal With Dior Following Legal Win Over Ex-Wife Amber Heard
Before and after the Paris show, Johnny and Greg took some photos, and the images will be used in a new Dior ad campaign. The contract that Johnny originally signed with Dior in 2015 to be the face of the cologne has just been renewed. It’s interesting to note that the Sauvage TV ad stopped running after Amber first leveled her accusations against Johnny.
After Johnny defeated Amber in court, his original FOX advertisement began receiving prime-time placement; now, he has a new, long-term contract. After the allegations came out from Heard about Depp, he was subsequently dropped from projects and deals, which was ultimately proven in court as she was ordered to pay him in damages.
However, Dior retained its contractual ties to the star throughout, standing by his side. When the actor lost his libel case against a British newspaper for calling him a “wife-beater,” Dior stood by him as well. That tactic appeared to work, as many supporters purchased Sauvage in stores like Sephora and Ulta to show their support during the legal battles.
