Dancing With the Stars: Cheryl Burke Celebrates Her Four-Year Sobriety

The star of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ decided to stop her drinking problems in 2018 following her and Matthew Lawrence’s  engagement party. At the time of her decision, it was very clear why Cheryl had decided to do such a thing. Her father had been an alcoholic, which saw him die from that disease.

Therefore, in order to avoid a similar fate, Cheryl recognised she had no choice but to take action. And the rest was history, as she has not looked back since. In a post to her fans on TikTok, Cheryl posted a video of herself posing to the camera.

The post was captioned by the following comments: Realizing I just celebrated four years of sobriety.” But what was more impressive has been Cheryl’s resilience that has accompanied this sobriety. During the course of it, she had broken up from Mathew which raised concerns over whether she would have a relapse.

After all, she was going through a major change in her life which could have derailed her progress. But rather than that happening, Cheryl managed to stay strong. And in the process of doing so, she recognised that it was either all or nothing. Her following comments confirmed as much: “It’s either black or white.”

The fans on social media were delighted by Cheryl’s progress. Her story served as an example to others who may be going through similar issues that anything was possible. As a result, they sent her some very warm words indeed.

One person wrote: That is fantastic. Thank you for sharing your story. Addiction and mental health need attention. 23 month on my journey,” while another person stated: “Congratulations!!! It’s been such an inspiring journey, and you’ve helped so many.”

It is great to see Cheryl doing so well and long may that continue. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
