Not with Thais’s Dad’s blessing, though. Patrick made one last ditch effort to get his future Father-in-Law’s blessing with a zoom call, he got him on video and practically begged the guy to give them his blessing, but to no avail, he was not budging.
A lot of people in the fandom get weird vibes off of Thais’s relationship with her Dad, they think that he gives off very abusive vibes and that the only reason he wanted Thais to come back home is so that he could have his prized daughter back so that he could potentially marry her off to a rich Brazillian man of his choosing… but that didn’t happen.

Patrick made a promise to her Dad that he would take care of Thais, and even though they didn’t get his blessing that had to be good enough because Thais was not returning home to Brazil just because he wanted her to. Thais is a grown woman, capable of making her own decisions and he has known about the engagement for awhile now, so being married is just a fact of life that Thais’s Dad was going to have to get used to.
Even though you could tell it really griped him to have to accept Patrick’s promise of taking care of Thais, it was the only form of compromise that he was going to get out of the two of them and he couldn’t do anything – he was in Brazil and not showing up for the wedding.
Now we wonder how on earth Thais is going to handle the whole “John moving out” conversation because Patrick said that would be a thing next. Now that Thais is Patrick’s wife she gets to dictate who comes and goes in the house, it’s not like it was before, so now John will have to find other living quarters and that might be a problem.
Especially since in his last confessional he said that just because they got married he doesn’t think that things are going to change that much between them. Is anyone else thinking, “Oh, you sweet, summer child, you…” stay tuned!!!
