Armie, for his part, had recently undertaken rehab in an organisation based in Florida. During the course of that process, it is claimed that Robert paid for that period of treatment. And given that Robert has suffered his own issues with addiction in the past, that is something that the Iron Man actor is fully aware of.
Not only that, but it appears that Robert had also allowed Armie, his former lover Elizabeth Chambers and their children to stay at his house. This was on the grounds that it would prevent Armie from being subjected to extensive negative media scrutiny after recent claims came to light that he was working as a salesman on the Cayman Islands.
After all, there was a negative reaction once there was a possibility that Armie could be doing this job. A number of his critics mocked the fact that the actor had gone into this venture, while previously being one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
And that has not gone down well with people within Armie’s camp. Armie’s attorney confirmed the following: “I can’t confirm or deny the report because Armie hasn’t addressed it. I just think it’s s–tty that, if he is selling timeshares, the media is shaming him for having a ‘normal job.”
Despite Robert going out of his way, a certain subset of people on social media were not happy to see this. This was on the basis that the allegations made against Armie which included rape, and sending messages related to cannibalism, were too much.
One person wrote: “Did RDJ extend the same support and resources to the people Armie Hammer has allegedly assaulted?” It is safe to say that Robert’s actions have divided the fanbase, even if his intentions were intended to help out a person in need.
