Kenneth Petty, who happens to be Nicki Minaj’s husband, has been put on probation after failing to register as a sex offender.

According to reports, this sentence was handed down on Wednesday, on 6th July 2022. This had arrived in response to Kenneth’s guilty plea last year, and as part of the punishment for failing to register, he will also be put in home detention for one year. In addition, there is the question of navigating a $55,000 fine.
But looking back, Kenneth has nobody to blame but himself. He had allegedly been arrested in 2020 having failed to register in California in 2019, despite having been told to do so. However, Kenneth’s track record shows that he does not have the best behaviour.
He had also been accused of attempting to rape a 16-year old girl, Jennifer Hough, in 1994. The latter expanded on how Kenneth had apparently approached her with a knife after which it is alleged he took Jennifer to a house where the incident had occurred.
In her comments, Jennifer stated: “I knew what he wanted. He pushed me down on the bed, we wrestled for my clothes.” Although that was the case, Nicki continued to stand by him. So much so that she hit out at her critics by stressing that the age difference had to be taken into context.
In some prior comments, she remarked: “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf, [sic] internet, y’all can’t run my life. y’all can’t even run y’all own life.” The fans on social media, thought, felt that Kenneth had a lucky escape.
They were of the view that the punishment was not stringent enough. One person wrote: “He’ll probably serve his sentence in the comfort of his own home rather than in prison.”
