Andi Dorfman has given her take on ‘The Bachelorette’s’ decision to have two female leads next season.
The show has historically gone with one female lead, as a whole host of men try to win the person’s affection. But going forward, the idea of having two leads will throw up an interesting dynamic.
Fans can expect more twists and turns, as the prospects of contestants playing each other in order to walk away as winner is bound to increase. After all, if there is more choice, there are more inventive ways to navigate the show.
‘The Bachelorette’: Andi Dorfman Reacts To The Show Having Two Female Leads-‘Gives Me A Little Sexist Vibe There That I Don’t Really Love’
But for Andi, she had a different take on the matter. She was of the view that there had to be a standard across the whole franchise. So if ‘The Bachelorette’ went ahead with two leads, then the same should be done for ‘The Bachelor.’
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said: “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t bummed that it’s two women. I’d like to see two men go at it. I don’t know, it gives me a little sexist vibe there that I don’t really love.”
Andi does have a point, and yet, this decision may have been done for the following reasons. First of all, there is no guarantee that this new format will work. Therefore, there needs to be a testing ground before it can potentially go ahead on ‘The Bachelor.’
Secondly, given that fans have already seen two women co-hosting the show (Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe), the dynamic of two female leads may seem more natural.
The response on social media was mixed. While some people were looking forward to the new take, others understood that Andi had a point. One person wrote: “Totally agree. Felt the same when they had Kaitlyn and Tayshia co host the show.”
Time will tell whether this move does end up being a success with the fans going forward. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
